Working in a Catholic Church/School for nearly 12 years has opened my eyes up to a LOT!!! I could start another whole blog on what I’ve learned about organized religion and its “holy” people…but I don’t have the time or the energy for that.
I’ve learned that all “holy” people aren’t nice. Simple as that. One individual that I had the “pleasure” (insert sarcasm here) of working with was very hypocritical. A showman to the congregation, yet made the staff cry. WWJD – probably bitch-slap them if He was here.
So, as Jesus would like us to, I try to find some good in everyone. However, the only good I could find in this person was their recipe for sticky chicken wings. I have, justifiably, renamed it “Satan’s Sticky Wings.”
SATAN’S STICKY WINGS
1 5 lb. bag of frozen chicken wings
Place in large pot and cover with water
Bring to boil and let simmer for 5 – 10 minutes.
This removes the excess fat so that the wings can become “sticky”
Drain and rinse.
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp ginger powder
Combine the water and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 5 minutes, add soy sauce, garlic powder and ginger powder. Bring to a boil again and simmer for another 10 – 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 425-degrees. Combine wings and sauce in a baking dish. (I find metal is better than glass) and bake for 1 hour or so mixing them periodically. Bake until the wings are cooked through and “sticky”.
